What is Systemic Supervision?

Systemic Supervision offers a caring space to attend to yourself as a practitioner; it will keep bringing you back to your best self in your work, nurturing your own unique approach and practice. It keeps you on solid ground, attentive to, and fully resourced for the work that’s yours to do.

Supervision is a professional requirement for all coaches and psychologists who abide by a recognised body’s code of ethics and standards of practice. A systemic approach will help you stay aware of the subtleties and complexities in your client relationships providing distance and insight on your clients, their systems, and how you may, unconsciously, be drawn into or activated by their dynamics and needs.

Most of all it’s a place to really see, appreciate and increase the value you bring, developing your confidence and capability as a practitioner and gaining reassurance that you are attending to challenging issues with ethical best practice.

Self-care is never a selfish act - it is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on earth to offer others.”

Why choose Systemic Supervision?

A systemic approach acknowledges that we are all embedded within a network of living systems which consciously and unconsciously affects the way we show up, relate and behave. Systemic supervision includes the whole and helps you navigate the seen and unseen between you, your client, their systems and yours (and the implications of this) to help you find your right place to do the work that’s needed.

By bringing our full awareness together – embodied, intuitive, felt and rational – I can help you discern the work that’s yours, and that which is naturally ours to do together. Drawing on mapping and embodied techniques, we will look through the systemic lens of ordering forces - purpose, time, place, exchange and belonging - to reveal points and patterns of stuck-ness, and find new ways through.

Through systemic supervision I offer a blend of the functions of mentor, coach, facilitator and supporter in a deep reflective space to help you expand the possibilities, and realise the potential, of your professional contribution. Systemic Supervision has a broad reach for me. I will support you to explore your inner and outer worlds so that you stand more consciously in your own presence, purpose and potential and work more consciously with other individuals in your own systemic world as well as help you develop your capability and practice.

I attend to my own professional and personal practice and process through ongoing supervision, therapy and learning events.

Different ways of working with me

Ongoing 1:1 relationship of reflective practice

meeting 4-12 times a year depending on your workload, face to face or on zoom, with a rhythm and focus that is bespoke to your needs and phase of development.

An on-going closed group with other supervisees

Where you will take it in turns for your questions to be the focus and learn also through the shared field of supporting and contributing to the questions of others.

I have a new group opening in Autumn 2024.

Please connect with me for more information.

Systemic workshops

I offer regular Systemic workshops for professionals wanting to deepen their practice, connect with a wider professional community and explore broader issues in a safe space.

Here, with an embodied constellating approach, you will get better sight of the systemic dynamics of a work-based question you hold.

All the above are available for independent and in-house coaches – at any stage of your professional journey. I welcome exploratory conversations for individual and group work, and am interested in shaping supervision provision for new practitioner groups as they graduate from their training.

“Deborah has a calm and reassuring presence, and she puts me at ease quickly. She often notices and names things of significance to me that I have not yet seen, and any time spent with her leaves me feeling more grounded and ready to attend to what is alive in my work and life at that given moment.”

Coach and C&R facilitator

"I needed to step up to the challenge of working with a group of founders who were clearly stuck in hidden dynamics, but had no experience of systemic work. Deborah’s awareness and sympathy for the many dimensions that make up good facilitation allowed me to reconcile the threads of uncertainty that were threatening to get in my way. I gained clarity and confidence and the work that followed was hugely beneficial to my clients and their organisation."

Systemic Coach and Constellator

You inspire me with your capacity to go to and through the difficulty, staying with what needs to be seen for as long as is necessary for true healing to come about. I’m grateful for your belief in me and encouragement to step forward into my own practice, and it’s staying with me.

Coach and Systemic Practitioner

“The highlight of working with Deborah was the safe, still space she created for exploration and reflection. By virtue of her very calm nature, honed facilitation skills and deep listening, I experienced many ‘a-ha’ moments and insights that were both helpful for me personally, for my practice and for my clients. I also deeply appreciated Deborah’s commitment to and prioritization of boundaries and ethical considerations.”
