Holding space for the inner work of change

Our inner and outer worlds are deeply connected

What it means to be a good leader or practitioner is changing - understanding yourself better and understanding the systemic field and ‘connective tissue’ in which you are embedded, and the relationships between, is necessary for success and thriving. Those wanting to find new, healthier and more sustainable ways to lead and live are increasingly bringing a more conscious and intentional way of being and doing to their roles - a different stance or presence to their work.

I believe our inner and outer worlds are deeply connected and influenced by the past, the present and our sense of the future. Our behaviours, beliefs and patterns of reacting and relating are shaped by the conscious and unconscious in our worlds – our psychologies and our systems. Understanding and seeing anew the nature of these connections provides meaning for the inner and outer work of releasing old patterns that no longer serve, and is fundamental to my approach in supporting you with change.

A living systems perspective

I do this in the context of a living systems perspective - attending to the systemic connective tissue in which we are all embedded, looking for ways to feed and nourish the body of your life or leadership so that you can thrive and care for the health of the system and people around you, and fulfill your purpose and role.

Calm, still, relational space

To do this I offer a calm, still, relational space in which we can embark on this work together. As well as listening deeply to help you gain perspective, I’ll introduce you to systemic mapping and embodied and reflective practices that tap into the wisdom of your intuition, your body’s sensing, and the knowing of your head and your heart. Where helpful, I’ll share my knowledge of psychological models, theories and research. It’s usual to bump up against some sticky areas at times, this is natural before you find new pathways and powerful new resources for change.

Pragmatic, intentional, supportive

Always, we will keep attuned to the needs of your business or clients; our work together only exploring what’s necessary to help you move forward practically with the challenges you face or questions you hold.

This inner-outer work of change is best not done alone and needs a blend of both support and distance, reflection and action. My approach is to help you navigate to the new and become resourced, clearer and reconnected with a sense of flow. So, I’ll stay alongside and accompany you until you feel securely at home in the new.
